UPDATE ON 4-7-2023
Our 2023 Dahlia tubers are SOLD OUT for the season 2023 season.
We will leave the photos here for reference until we refresh the page in 2024 for our “2024 Spring Dahlia Tuber Sale”.

To be notified when our Dahlia tubers are available in 2024, join our email list by entering your name and email address in the form below. Many tubers sell out in less than 24 hours, so you’ll want to be on the list to be notified when the sale goes live!

Our Promise

  • We personally divide, inspect and inventory each tuber that we sell. We promise to share only the very best of what we have available.

  • All tubers are grown by us, on our farm in Michigan. We do not resell tubers or clumps from other growers.

  • We do our absolute best to prevent the spread of disease by employing the following methods:

    • Weekly inspections of every single plant.

    • Sanitizing snips between every single plant when harvesting or dividing tubers.

    • Submitting samples of any suspect plants for diagnostic/laboratory testing (through Michigan State University and Agdia), along with immediate removal of the plant and the soil from the field. When in doubt, we throw it out!

    • Restricting access to our fields. We do not allow any one else to harvest our blooms in order to keep our plants as healthy and disease free as possible.

SHIPPING

We offer a $15 flat rate for shipping.

If you want to place multiple orders and combine the shipping, read on!

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE 3 STEPS TO COMBINE SHIPPING FOR MULTIPLE ORDERS.

1. On your FIRST ORDER, select the “SHIPPING” option to pay for shipping.

2. On SUBSEQUENT ORDERS, select the “ON-FARM PICK-UP” option (even though you won't be picking them up. This simply allows you to check out without paying for shipping again).

3. After placing your orders, SEND ME AN EMAIL THAT CLEARLY LISTS YOUR ORDER NUMBERS so we can staple your orders together and pack them at the same time, in the same box. DO NOT MESSAGE THIS INFORMATION VIA SOCIAL MEDIA. Social media messaging is a unreliable method of communication. Always, always, ALWAYS email.

Email me: lori@threeacrefarm.net

On-Farm Pick-Up

For our local friends, we offer a free “On-Farm Pick-Up” option.

ON-FARM PICK-UP DATE: Saturday, April 22, 2023 from Noon - 3pm ONLY.
I will be here to greet you and answer your questions. It's always fun to meet you in person!

Yes, you can place multiple orders and we'll combine them in the same bag. Please email me (lori@threeacrefarm.net) with your order numbers so we can staple the orders together and pack them at the same time.

NOTE: If you cannot pick up during this time, PLEASE CHOOSE THE SHIPPING OPTION. Spring is an extremely busy time on the farm and we cannot accommodate pick-ups outside of this time window. No exceptions.

If you've chosen the On-Farm Pick-up option and can't make it, please send a friend or family member to pick-up for you. Orders that are not picked up will be restocked (we always have a waiting list!) without a refund.

If you have ANY hesitation about being able to pick up during this time, PLEASE CHOOSE THE SHIPPING OPTION! Sometimes $15 is way cheaper than the gas money and stress of trying to fit in one more errand on a Saturday. ;)

When we ship orders

Tubers cannot be exposed to temperatures below 32F, so we will not ship until it's safe.

Depending on weather conditions, shipping will likely occur from mid April - early May.

Michigan is cold and spring nights often dip below 32F, even if the weather is warm where you live. We've confirmed with USPS that the trucks used for shipping packages around the USA are not heated, so we take this into account when deciding when to ship.

We spend lots of time tracking and analyzing weather all around the US, checking to make sure we can ship to you. Thanks for being patient! We do our very best to make sure your tubers arrive safely.

What to Expect

  • The tubers are packed in baggies with peat moss/wood shavings. The bags are left partially open ON PURPOSE to allow the tubers to breathe and prevent moisture build up. We do not recommending storing tubers in closed plastic bags. Best to leave them open a bit.

  • Upon arrival, be sure to store the tubers in a cool dry place until planting time (with the baggies unzipped halfway). DO NOT store them in an area that could freeze. Even 1 night in a freezing garage can ruin a tuber (we know this from experience).

  • We sell individual tubers, not clumps. We only sell our best tubers. We keep all the “uglies/weirdos” for our own farm (ugly/weird tubers grow just as well!).

  • Tuber sizes vary wildly, depending on the variety. On our farm, we plant anything “pinky sized” or larger. Bigger tuber DOES NOT equal bigger plant.

  • Tubers are inspected 2-3x to ensure there is at least 1 eye. Please allow up to 5-6 weeks after planting for the tuber to grow. Some are slow and don’t sprout until July.

  • We are not responsible for loss due to weather conditions, pest/critter damage or incorrect storage conditions.
